Saint-Esprit pendants symbolize the holy spirit and date back to the mid 1700s in France.
Saint Esprit means "Holy Spirit" in French. This piece dates the the early 1990s and is a gorgeous piece that carries with it a long history of faith, both in the Christian and Protestant churches. In Victorian symbolism, the dove was also the symbol of true and eternal love since these birds mate with their partner for life. The pearl was often a representation tears- adding to the complex language of symbols during this era, making this the most considered and craftily created mourning dove. The bird in flight was also a popular charm well into the turn of the century. This delicate bird charm is a wonderful conversation piece, a lovely vintage item for any collection.
