Victorian Rose Cut Diamond and Enamel Pheasant Charm
This is a beautiful rose cut diamond and enamel pheasant charm with a silver front and gold back. Tiny and amazingly detailed, it measures 1/2 an inch tall and 3/4 of an inch from head to tail. Dating to the 1880s, it has 17 tiny rose cut diamonds ranging in size from 1 mm to 2.25 mm. The head of the pheasant is enameled with red, green and blue, the colors of the male pheasant. Male pheasants are colorful by design in order to attract females, so the bird is a symbol for luck and love.
