Vintage 18K Gold and Black Enamel Diamond Lace Up Ring by Staurino Fratelli

$2,000.00

Circa 1960, this 18k gold black enamel and diamond ring is an Italian piece designed by Paolo and Luigi Staurino Fratelli. Its lace-up design is bold and sexy, reminiscent of lingerie. The black enamel on the wide band makes a gorgeous contrast to the 18k gold outline. The ring is pierced by diamonds, prong-set into white gold, that give the illusion of diamond-studded laces.  Edgy and unique, this is a great statement piece that hints at boudoir.

The Staurino family has been notable in jewelry since 1800, when Natale Staurino opened a workshop in the small town of Valenza. In 1960, brothers Paolo and Luigi Staurino founded Staurino Fratelli, a company that specializes in handmade custom jewelry. Their pieces are often one-of-a-kind, and the company has an impressive following of celebrities and the Royal Family.

The ring weighs 14 grams. The band measures 11/16” at its widest point and tapers to 1/4” at its narrowest point. It contains nine single cut natural diamonds that measure 2 mm each, for a total weight of .15 of a carat. The diamonds are G-H in color and VS2-SL1 in clarity.

The ring is marked 750 and contains the Italian registration number. It is in very good condition with some age appropriate wear to the enamel (very slight scratches that are only visible upon close inspection).

Ring size 6.
