18K Gold Freeform Artisan Lapis Lazuli Ring

$2,500.00

A bold statement piece that features a rough cut deep saturated blue Lapis Lazuli specimen. In its raw form, the stone has sparkling flecks of pyrite and calcite that are a striking contrast against the rich blue. Lapis Lazuli is an aggregate of three minerals—blue lazurite, white calcite, and gold pyrite—and this particular specimen has a beautiful sampling of all three. The stone is quite large with an interesting shape that is elongated and graces the hand. An artisan piece, the stone is set in a custom 18k brushed gold bezel that hugs the Lapis Lazuli’s wavelike surface, mapping the profile of the stone. The bezel is set up on a platform that connects to the ring shank; the side of the band has ribbing and the bottom of the band is brushed gold, leaving a clean surface that allows the ring to be resized.

The ring is marked 18k, and contains the maker’s mark S. Sacler. We were unable to identify the maker, but this is a classic piece of art jewelry from the 1980’s or 1990’s.

The ring weighs 27 grams. The Lapis Lazuli measures 1 3/8” x 13/16” x 3/8” (including the bezel and platform setting).

Ring size 7.75 with the ability to be resized.
