Black Gold Hills Grape Leaf 10K Gold Unisex Ring

$475
This three-toned gold ring has fantastic presence! It is a unisex Black Hills Gold ring, featuring a grape leaf pattern on the front. The leaves are a combination of rose gold and green gold on a yellow gold band that is quite generous. The ring has some nice detail and it has its origins in the Gold Rush. It is marked on the underside and interior of the band with "Black Hills Gold" JCO and 10 karats of gold.

This traditional grape leaf pattern is from the 1920s-30s and was popular in the Black Hills of South Dakota. It was made the official South Dakota state jewelry in the 1980s. There is a curious story of how the Black Hills Gold design of the grape leaves came to be:
a French goldsmith named Henri LeBeau who came out in the 1870s during the gold rush dreamed about the pattern as he was passing our from dehydration and starvation. The leaf motif is most definitely a pattern of abundance and prosperity!

Black HiIls Gold is uniquely and only made of an alloy of gold with standard yellow gold as well as green and pink gold. The ring weighs 7.5 grams. The ring is a size 9, making it a nice unisex ring. There are visible lines of it having once been re-sized, something which could be done easily again. This ring has a fantastic history and is a wonderful piece for any antique collection.
