Early French Victorian 18K Gold & Enamel Wheat Earrings
A lovely antique pair of French earrings that date to the 1850s. The earrings are back entry, authentic and not converted, in a wheat pattern. Two segments of the wheat motif are hand-painted in a light blue or turquoise enamel color. The enamel is intact, but there is slight marring to one of them, as picture in the photographs. The earrings measure approximately 1 inch in size. They are lightweight, approximately 2 grams, and they have hallmarks on the back. The 750 gold mark is 18 karat gold, and the maker is a French gold manufacturer. The wheat pattern has very nice detail, and sinuous lines. These are real antique earrings so the back entry can be unusual at times to adjust to. Once set, the earrings fasten on very securely and are a delight to wear.
