Early Victorian Cornflower Blue Sapphire 14K Gold & Sterling Silver Ring

$1,950.00
This gorgeous early Victorian ring has a natural cornflower blue cushion cut sapphire that has been collet set into sterling silver and is fitted around a 14 karat gold ornate band. The ring dates to the 1860s when collet setting was in style; the hand fitted and hand made qualities of this ring make it a pleasure to admire. The cornflower blue of this 5mm gemstone is a real beauty. The ring has an open back setting so that more light can radiate through the gemstone. The many facets of the sapphire make it luminous as it reflects and refracts light. The ring is a size 7.5 and the total carat weight of the sapphire is 3/4. The ring has ornate organic and foliage motifs around the band, except a the base of the band, so this ring could be easily re-sized. There is a laser repair to the inside of the band as the colett setting was a little loose so this secures it (please see picture).
