Taxco Sterling Silver Necklace and Bracelet
An elegant sterling silver Taxco necklace and bracelet set with red stone decorative elements. Both the necklace and the bracelet are made of segments that move to fit nicely against the body. The bracelet has a cuff design, and is made up of six 1 inch segments. Both the necklace and the bracelet have been marked by the maker but I cannot identify the name. The set has a nice vintage look, dating to the 1940's when Taxco was making the repeating silver bead pattern. The red stone is unidentified, possibly glass; it has a soft polish and bold look with a silver line down the middle. The set is a nice matching pair that can be worn individually or at the same time. The set has great character, and an original design. The necklace features an Aztec face at the center of its design. A 1-1/2 inch face is carved into the red stone with nice detail. The red stone segments around the 15 inch necklace measure 3/4 of an inch. The necklace and bracelet are quite solid, with the silver having some very nice weight to it. Feels great when worn; a wonderful vintage item and great sterling silver collectible. All are marked Hecho en Mexico, Made in Mexico.
