This cigarette case has figural repoussé silhouette of smoking lady. It features an elegant Art Nouveau repousse image of a woman smoking a cigarette, surrounded by swirls of smoke that cover the top of the case. It is another iconic image of the Unger Bros.;as it pinpoints an era so well. It is inscribed Charles F. Phillips on reverse. The Unger Bros. were one of the most creative and premier manufacturers of Art Nouveau sterling silver items in the United States. Unger Bros., Newark, New Jersey, circa 1900 Marks: UB (intertwined), STERLING 3-1/4 inches long 2 1/4" wide It weighs 2.2 troy ounces. It is in very good condition with a few minor dents, It still open and closes nicely.
