Vintage Royal Arch Masonic 14K Gold and Enamel Charm
A vintage Masonic charm that is made of 14 karat soft rose gold, with black, red and white enamel details. The cross charm measures approximately 1/2 x 1/2 inches and weighs 1 gram. The charms takes on the form of a symmetrical cross with the writing IN HOC SIGNO VINCES dispersed around the charm. This is a well known Latin phrase that translates to "In this sign you will conquer". A red cross (or Christian Patté Cross) and a crown are at the center of this text. This writing is often found in the Knights Templar- also known as The United Religious, Military and Masonic Orders of the Temple and of St John of Jerusalem, Palestine, Rhodes and Malta, a fraternal order affiliated with Freemasonry.
On the other side of the charm and around a circle are the letters: HTWSSTKS, a Masonic acronym that is short for "Hiram, Tyrian, Widow’s Son, Sent to King Solomon". This text could often be found on a Royal Arch Mason's headstone.
This charm with complex history and symbolic language once belonged to a Mason of Christian belief. This rare piece is in fantastic condition, with all color enamel intact. The charm has been made carefully, dating to the late 1930s. Ready to hang on the chain of your choice.
